I finally got around to making a secure mount that can pack the O7Q down into my F-stop Satori EXP backpack while still mounted on the FS700.
The idea is that the O7Q slides neatly beside the FS during transport. And with the twist of a knob it comes out and becomes a monitor. I only need to attach a battery, plug in the power, and attach the SDI into both the 7Q and the FS700 before it is shoot ready. Not bad from a backpack!
Its a bit of a frankenrig. Some odds and ends from Zacuto, a little 15mm rod from Berkey Systems with 1/4"20 screw going into the side of the 7Q. The top mount is from the Westside AV O7Q FS700 mount. The sunscreen is also from Westside AV. The top plate comes from the RED shop. The shoe mounts are also from Berkey Systems.
Note that the sunscreen is needed to protect the glass from hitting the FS700 during transport. Theres a good 5 cm at least of clearance between the glass and the camera. While closed, there is no way those two will interact.
This setup will improve im sure when i get my F-stop Shinn backpack, which is far larger than the Satori. Maybe i can even make room for my shoulder rig inside it.
