I noticed the same effect on other vertical, bright surfaces as well, during the same video job. That was yesterday.
Can this effect be reproduced today?
You bet. I just lit an edge of my shiny black plastic printer, so the glare created a bright vertical line. Voila - dancing lines all over it when viewing on-camera. The lines are easily visible on cam's built-in monitor. I noticed that the artifacts get worse when the picture is brighter - for example, with 709 800% Gamma.
If I roll the camera off-axis (just hand-holding it now, so it's easy to manipulate) by about 30 degrees, the moire/aliasing/whatever thing disappears. It seems to only occur if the bright line is (about) parallel to the cam's Y dimension of the sensor.
