FS700, Face Detection and Manual Shutter Speed

In case anyone finds themselves with the same issue...

We've had an annoying glitch with our camera since getting it back from the 4K upgrade, in that we were unable to manually change the shutter speed.

It seems that this is a "feature" that kicks in automatically when Face Detection is turned On and Auto Focus is enabled. It's mentioned in the manual under the Face Detection section, although it's not something I would have ever thought to check!

So if ever you find your unable to manually change the shutter speed, flick AutoFocus and Face Detection off....

Ah, so that's what was happening to me. I did notice a slight workaround tho... if you change your iso/aperture and get the shutterspeed to be where you want it, and then turn off auto shutter speed, it will stay at this speed.

You can also click the focus to manual, set desired shutter speed, then click it back to auto focus.
But the first time this happens and you are unable to adjust shutter speed it is kind of freaky.

Freaky? It drove me nts (but yeah, just flicking to auto shutter then adjusting iris got around it)

This is odd because I have my camera set to Auto Focus and have no problem at all adjusting shutter speed manually or setting it to auto and allowing it to do it's own thing. Keep in mind that my camera is a FS700RH so it came from the factory as 4K ready and was not upgraded.

I do have face detection set to OFF.

sorry for beeing late for the party.
It took me two times reset and changing everything step by step to find out that white
balance is also affected. I normally have WB preset on "manual" and there is no way to
change it if face detection is enabled.

Yep - I have the same issue. It is a PITA to keep turning off face detection to manually adjust WB.
