Hi all,
In my previous project I shoot with the 7Q in 4K to HD mode. For the first time I film in REC709, the image is great. Not so much noise. I know it is only about 8 stop in Rec709. But I found that the highlight area is not smooth to transit to the mid-tone area. Seems the curve is different from the internal AVCHD(AVCHD is much smooth image). This is the first question just see if anyone fix this problem too.
Then I use s-log2 (4K to HD ProRes), the image is great at the beginning. A little bit noise. But, when I do a simple colour grading in AE. So much noise/grain goes out in the shadow area. And the back light shots is also got so many noise in the dark area too. seems very hard to remove it. I've try over 1 or 2 stop to see can it reduce some noise in post. But seems not much difference.
Do we much to use the De-noise plugin when shooting in s-log mode? I think the internal AVCHD is not good enough in image quality, but it is much easier to control colour/exposure etc.
I know I can just film with AVCHD if my client accept in this quality. But I would like to know everyone how to solve this problem?
p.s. forgive me. my english is not very good.
Thanks everyone.
