FS7: FS7 Won't Power On

My camera was working yesterday, tried booting it up this morning and nothing is happening. Internal battery is full charged. Tried my tilta vmount and still nothing. No signs of life. What to do?

Try removing the battery and cycling the power switch on and off, let it sit for a few minutes to an hour, then try again with a battery or AC adapter.

This method worked on a 5D, not sure if it will work for you or not. The idea is to drain the capacitors so that the device fully resets.

Any hot car/cold room use yesterday, or vice versa temperatures?

All of the above. Sorry I didn't mention it in my post...the camera probably got fried from a surprise thunderstorm in the late afternoon. It can a little wet but quickly got it out of the rain and dried it off. I still used it for a little bit after that. I put my camera through a lot of abuse over the summer. I film all day at camps twice a week. This week we went to a super humid indoor water park and then the next day it was in the son all day with a surprise downpour. My 5D IV seems to do better in harsh conditions. My GoPro 7 is obviously waterproof but it overheated on me yesterday and sometimes the batteries gets too cold in the winter. My GoPro hero 6 is sitting at the bottom of the lake at the camp....i'm sure it's ruined by now but maybe one year when they decide to drain the lake, they will find the gopro and the memory card will be a little time capsule.

Brought the camera to the service center here in Paramus (about a mile away from my house) They recently moved from Teaneck. Just diagnosing the problem is $135...hope I didn't fry anything too expensive.

check out 'Unique Photo' by you if you never have...that place has been pretty good to me anytime I'm in NJ.

Yeah, I used to give them a lot of business (still have some unique rewards I have to use up) they were close by when I lived in Parsippany. I would rent from them pretty often but it got to the point where it wasn't worth my time to pickup and return rental gear. Now I pretty much own everything I need.

Good Idea to start carrying a small silver space blanket in your bag for those hot summer days. Carry a couple of plastic grip clips too so that you can
cover the camera and secure it from the wind when its just sitting in the sun between set-ups.

Backpack covers are great for use as a camera cover. Most have an elastic band and possibly a draw string as well. No grip-clips needed. They are compact when stored. I use this one:

You can find backpack covers in reflective silver. I own a Harrison camera cover but it is bulky to carry around.

I think EG's camera damage took place while shooting. Obviously a "working" camera cover / rain cover would help there. I own the one made by Porta Brace for my fs7. In a pinch you can also use a trash bag for rain protection. Just cut a hole for the lens and the VF. So far my Fs7 has held up well despite regularly shooting in extreme heat and humidity and in light rain with no camera cover. She's never not fired up for me.
