FS7: FS7 MXF file no audio in Premiere pro

Hi folks,

I've been trying to figure an issue I've been having with the .MXF file format when working with premiere pro. Forgive me if the is topic is old, I've searched online, but cannot come to no "real" concrete fix, I just started using the FS7 as a DP for a client that owns the camera, which was a new purchase. I've searched online to no avail.

The heart of the matter, the video imports with an audio track, sometimes with a message that reads "the iporter reported a generic error". The video plays fine, but said audio track, which is present, is completely blank. When I play the bare bones clip in Quicktime, audio is there, but after the import, nothing. I've tried media encoder, nothing, I've tried several transcoding softwares, no audio just the clip, with dip in visual quality, which is to be somewhat expected. I've tried importing through the media browser, and the project window, still no audio. I've tried carrying the entire card o another drive and importing from there, no audio... I've clear caches, no fix, I'm using CS5.5, older I know, but from what I've seen, even people running CC the latest versions and before are having the same and similar issues. What am I doing wrong, or not doing at all? I've been trying to rectify this for about 2 weeks now, any help will be greatly appreciated... Thanks i advance

You must mean the guy that had 14TB of data (over 90 days old) that wasn't backed up properly? And of course, it's just cache media that was at risk of being deleted. If those files were was so important to someone, all they'd have to do is open a project and let Premiere create the cache again. Wasted time? Sure, but it should have been backed up in the first place if it was so precious.
