We recently got approved to purchase FS7 mk IIs for work. I currently own an FS5 and Doug’s masterclass helped me learn of the ins and outs. I always recommend it to others. The guys I shoot with only have experience with ENG cams and lenses. I thought it would be great to rent the videos to get them started, but I noticed the videos are based on firmware v 1.1. Will most of the menus etc. be similar enough for them to follow, or is there anything newer I should look for intro purposes to the FS7? Thanks!

Nothing very significant has been changed on the FS7 since it was first introduced. The firmware updates definitely cleaned up some rough edges and there were some welcome changes to the White Balance and Audio functions, but nothing major enough that someone who has already viewed the rest of the training video series shouldn't be able to grasp in a couple of minutes. And almost all of the changes on the FS7MII are just mechanical differences that do not fundamentally change operation of the camera. One exception is the Variable ND filter and I have added about 5 minutes of new material to the exposure chapter that explains how to use that feature. Other than that, the series should be 98% up to date no matter which camera someone owns or when they purchased it. Thanks for asking.
