FS7: FS7 II Competition

I’m sure some of you are aware of the current Sony competition to win an FS7II, maybe anyone entering could share their videos here for feedback and a like? (The shortlisting is based on youtube likes, the top videos then go for judging by Philip Bloom).

You can find out more on the competition here: http://m.info.pro.sony.eu/webApp/son_COMP_FS7M2_WelcomePack_EN?chasrc=PSE.Yb.Ref

So yes this is my entry, a bit of blatant self promotion but that’s what the competition is all about. Any other entrants? Please feel free to add your video.

How is the competition handled this time?

I reached the final 5 when you could win an FS700R... but back then you had to pester everyone you knew to sign up with their email address to vote. And there was some quite obvious vote cheating going on etc... and in the end I lost to a damn skateboard video ;)
Not sure I could go through having to bother my entire extended contacts network about something like that again...

It's the 10 videos with the most likes during 1st - 12th March that get shortlisted. Then judged by Philip Bloom for the winner and runner up.

It's always tricky as established youtube channels with large userbases have a clear advantage, but as noted, last years winner of the FS5 had only 27 subscribers at the time. So I guess it's just getting a topic that resonates with a large enough group outside of ones own social circles.

Either way, I've enjoyed putting mine together. If it doesn't get anywhere, I still have a video I can be proud of.

Nice one! here's my entry

I think there's a bit of cheating going on this time around, how people have managed to get so many views is baffling!?

I'm unsure. But some people have gained hundreds of views over the course of the last few weeks, as I've been assured by sony pro europe that only likes gained from the 1st actually count. Everything prior to that are wasted likes. Who knows if that'll work out in reality though.

A film about a Romanian Blacksmith has received 14k views and over 500 likes in 1 day! (edit: it's gone to 17k likes!)
It will be a shame for the good early entrants who wont get many likes between the 1st - 12th March.
On the sony website here:

https://www.sony.co.uk/pro/article/broadcast-products-camcorders-fs7-ii-competition

It says entries can be made up until the 12th but you'd be hard pressed to get any likes in that short time!
It hasn't been very clear from the start, I'd like to think Philip Bloom will pick a worthy winner though,
he said in a FB live video he was going to look at the top 20/30.

Fair play, he obviously has a means to a large audience. It is a shame that every entrant can't be judged on its own merit, but with so many entrants I can understand why there has to be some sort of pre-judging filter (youtube likes).

Yes the competition is for Europe only (barring Italy for some reason).

Sucks that we need to pay about 1600 USD more for the FS7mk2 (and for that matter any other camera brand/model) in Europe than in USA....

Yes the competition is for Europe only (barring Italy for some reason).

I did a job in Italy last year for the UEFA Champions League final for Playstation and they had a competition for 2 tickets to the game and because of 'Italian rules' ahem... Any competition that takes place in Italy has to have an Italian winner.

Unless, you know, you have a right-wing conservative Government and have had for 10 years.

You don't have to talk to me about definitions. I'm from here. I'd love to know how you think socialism is responsible for the fall of the GBP sterling.

This is a Sony Europe promotion. The Sony divisions are quasi-independent operating units with their own marketing programs, service structure and consequently differing price structures.
