Hi all,
I've been repairing the slipping FS7 (and FS5) handgrip issue in the US and Europe for a couple years now.
I've fixed about 70 of them now.
An aluminum pivot pin sheers off from the one actual metal part of the grip- an 1/8" substrate that all the plastic parts are pinned to. I re-locate the center of the broken pin and mill a slot or well for a new steel pin I make on a lathe that is tapped (2.5mm) that receives a fixing screw so the pin is locked into the well and can withstand real world lateral forces. It takes 4-5 hours and requires 2 carefully made machined parts per repair. I stand behind it for 3 years.
1.The repair costs $245
2. Contact me (below) and I'll send you an e-invoice with my shipping address in New Orleans.
I can usually turn it around in a day if you let me know you need a quick turnaround.
Thanks!
