Everything highly welcomed :) And I'm sure we can expect a lot of bugs fixed as well.

My sources are reluctant to specify a date, which doesn't mean that October is still out of the question.

Sony is pretty much on time with their firmware updates. Each was released after 3 months, so I would be quite surprised if this one would come later then beginning of October.

NR in Cine-I is a nice surprise, interested to see how that works out in reality....i think i would actually have preferred lens correction, but....
i really hope we finally get waveform....

Those are all very powerful upgrades that we can all be happy about. I would still like to see the big kahuna of linking white balance Slog and LUT's which would make this a killer camera for all situations.

I,d like to see them remove the bass rolloff from the mic preamps. I am convinced it's dsp software function that is programmable.
Also fix the waveform so it's usable in 4k.

Doubtfull if we see a lot of bug fixes, more likely new ones added.

Ha! I was reading the Sony Forum and gathered that firmware updates in the F line have been one step forward and one back on occasion.

Yes, it's been a bit of a frustrating ride. That said, it is a great camera for the price and I really like the form factor.

I have seen the new firmware of the FS5.

It was snappier than my 2.10 on the FS7.

The center scan was user button programmable and works on an instant.
Exactly as you'd like to have it. Really great for a longer reach of every lens
you have...

Have they fixed the shutter bug? Does the Waveform work properly? Are LUTs working in S&Q? These need fixing before any time-lapse or centre scan is added IMHO.

No waveform in the FS5...
But I was told, it can't be "fixed".
No LUTs on the FS5...

I really hope, that things get fixed, but I think this is gonna be along way.
Sony seems to work on new cameras before they find time for fixing quirks
on their existing ones. As it has ever been...

Sorry, misunderstood you Erik, I thought you made a typo writing 'FS5'. Hopefully, some of the improvements on that camera will make its way into the FS7.

Was that the same layout as in fs7 or they've changed it?
