False Color for FS7 is here!

We developed a False Color Exposure Tool for use the FS7, F5, F55:

FCET_exmple.jpg

It´s based on Cine-Mode, generated by a programmed LUT that took us weeks to measure out. Therefor we did a giant number of test-chart shots, measuring out S-log stop -(well , 1/3rd stop-)wise and did some betatesting.

Have a look :

Wanna see it on FS7 or FS7 mk2?
Meet me at IBC , I´ll be on the Sony Booth from Friday to Tuesday.

See ya?

The difference between other exposure tools in FS7 and this one is that you can quickly toggle them on or off. You can't do it with this tool because it requires selection of custom 3D LUT in the menu, not to mention that you can't toggle it on / off when recording at all. So ideally this is for a situation when you have an external monitor. But since most monitors these days have this feature built in, at that point this tool would not make much sense. I can almost already hear horror stories of someone accidentally burning this image into their recordings...

Hi broughtonfilm,

no, not living under a rock - lutcalc is a fantastic tool for any sort of LUT/gamma/colorspace work , but without testing FC to real world exposures I personally didnt like to use FC straight out of lutcalc.

Instead, I wanted my own colors and %intervals and correlate it to desired levels.

For the on/off question: Thats exactly the reason why I wanted a non-screwd picture. There are 4 versions of it so you could even use FC for crushed blacks/blown highlights and set Zebra to desired levels for skintones. So you get both out of two worlds.
Of course SDI1 LUT must be switched OFF for not baking it in - this will be explained in the description and manual as well.

If you think that my way of using/designing it, simply dont go for it.
Everyone eles is invited to check it out (new expl. video when its out).
