FS7: Fs7 extension timecode in issues

Been having problems accepting timecode in from the sound recorder. I was wondering if any one new anything on this?

Ive been able to send out but not receive from master.

is there anything in the menus? It should just accept it and I know about the switch for it to be either timecode in or timecode out

I also had an issue getting timecode in. A couple of my sound guys have a little timecode jammer that I've used into the Odysesy's LTC in, but it wasn't working on the XDCA-FS7's Timecode In.

Hmmm. I jammed my FS7 last week taking in TC from a Sony PMW-500. Worked fine. Have not tried sending TC out yet, but I assume it should work okay just flipping the external switch.

Timecode jamming problem

Good to know. I'll try this out next time.

Hi All,
Trying to trouble shoot a timecode jamming issue with my FS7 and XDCA. Had TC set to Preset, Free Run and In on the XDCA but it wouldn't jam from either the smart slate or the mixer (788 I believe).

I never had this problem before, only differences on this job were I had upgraded to firmware V3.0 since my last shoot and this was the first time I was shooting 29.97fps NDF (most of my clients ask for 23.98fps.) The mixer was set to NDF as well.

Tried several times, rebooted the camera, swapped batteries and the sound guy tried two different cables, but no luck. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Is it possible that after the 3.0 body upgrade, that you need to re-install the XDCA firmware update again?

Hi Cynthia, I bought the XDCA with the latest firmware already installed so I'd be hesitant to mess with that. We were recording Prores with no other issues, I'd assume FW issues would have caused trouble with that too?

User bit was grayed out in the menu, not sure if that matters?

Thanks

No, frame rate was set through the format menu and audio was coming in through the XLR's which would have been disabled in S&Q I believe.
