FS7: FS7 - DJI Ronin Help

Hi All,

Purchased a DJI Ronin last week (2nd generation) for use with my FS7, but having trouble getting it balanced.

After a bit of research I've found that I need the extension arms, how are people finding the CineMilled extensions arms? Looking to get those.

Do you also need the pan arm extensions? Or can you just get away with the extension arms for now?

Any advice and pictures of peoples set up would be of great help.

Regards,

Josh

they are very good quality. they match the design flawless. i have an unused set if you're interested in purchasing.

You can use the FS7 without extension arms, I've done it many times. You will need to strip everything off the camera body except a small lens.

As jwalk said, they are good quality and work fine.
At least you'll need the arm extensions, and probably the pan arm extension too... They will help you for the tilt axis.
I think you can get away with the tilt extension arms for now.
Its quite helpful to follow the assembly instructions on their videos at cinemilled.com
And the best part of this venture is... practice, practice, practice...

here's already a FS7 brushless gimbal thread with lot of Ronin comments.
For me it works perfect w/o extension arms

btw: what is 2nd generation? What's new?

I've done it without extensions. With larger lenses, I've used weights from Opteka to help balance it with increasing the length. Beware, with the New Ronin's the pan extension from cinemilled will not fit. The arm extensions do.

To get the most out of your Ronin and to save headaches, I'd definitely invest in the extension arms. Pan extension - not so much a necessity unless you really load it up (i.e. wireless follow focus, heavy cine glass, etc.)

CVP say the following, have a look at the picture too.

The Ronin has a had a slight design change during its production lifetime to date, affecting this accessory. You can easily determine if you own a first or second generation Ronin by looking at the tilt motor (left) arm:

Thanks for your help guys. I think I will get the arms just for the ease of convenience, could be a pan having to strip the camera down and worrying about weight all the time
