FS7: Fs7 and Odissey 7q for 4k Prores

Hi,
someone can helm me with setting of odissey 7q with fs7 for 4k prores recording?
When I set the fs7 in UHD the odissey won't work.
The odissey have last firmware.

Are you connecting the Odyssey via HDMi
or over the XDCA-FS7 RAW-SDi signal?

HDMi is delivering UHD up to 30p, 4k up to 24p only.
RAW SDi is delivering UHD/4k up to 60p plus the
S+Q modes, which will deliver up tp 180fps
continously...
 
You need the O7Q+ to be able to record UHD or 4K from the HDMI in the FS7, the original O7Q does not understand UHD or 4K over HDMI.

I believe Dan Keaton has reached out to you privately but I will respond here as well both for your benefit as well as others with similar issues.


The FS7 does not output 4K or UHD video over its SDI outputs. They are only HD (1920x1080).
The FS7 can output 4K or UHD video over its HDMI output. The camera's record mode must first be set correctly and then the Monitoring mode can be selected in the menus.
The FS7 can output 4K RAW data if the Sony XDCA Expansion Back is added to the camera.

The Odyssey7Q cannot record 4K or UHD video via HDMI input. To do so, the Odyssey7Q+ is required, which can then record these signals in Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) up to 30p.
The Odyssey7Q can record the 4K RAW data the FS7 with XDCA Expansion Back can output, but to do so the Sony FS RAW Recoring Option must be activated on the Odyssey7Q. Activation can be purchased off the Convergent Design website.
