FS7: FS7 and Atomos via SDI

Hi

Hopefully a quickie!

Im trying to set my Atomos Shogun flame up to be a directors monitor for the FS7.

I want to do this via SDI as the HDMI port is used by my Dp502 - operators monitor.

My fuzzy logic says its something to do with a PSF output or not which might need to be disabled?

Shoot is in the morning :)

PsF is the only output option for most formats that will allow the simultaneous use of both SDI and HDMI outputs.

Thank you

Can you clarify this does or does not work with the Atomos?

Im guessing by your tone that it doesnt.

This would not be a problem if my stupid SMallHD sdi had not broken

Tone? Just a quick answer to a quick question. Please do not infer anything from that.

I have never used a Shogun nor have I ever used HDMI from my camera except for testing years ago so I can't provide any additional information. Sorry.

I read an implication that PSF was a potential problem and if one is not using HDMI then I could get a 'proper' signal

I think you are correct - Im not shooting the messenger - your info is useful. thank you. :)

Im only using HDMI because my SmallHD is so badly constructed that it is not fully functional.

Usually I use my wireless transmitter.. but that is on my Gimbal tomorrow.

I don't know about HD but when I set my FS7 for HDMI out in UHD then I couldn't get any SDI out at all. Not happy camper as I needed both for monitoring to client. Good solution with the ATOMOS. I'm not sure if you can do the same with Odyssey - HDMI-In > SDI out???? UHD-IN > HD SDI Out??? Anyone know? I couldn't on the set but I was pressured . Should check it at home.
Actually my client wanted to see timecode so that complicated it more because I couldn't send screen info to the recorder.
