The FS5 with the Raw upgrade, IMO, is one of the best cameras ever (for sure, the best value for money): cheap, small, lightweight, modular, powerful.Great for run and gun and, with the Raw upgrade, it turns into a real monster. Someone should look at this and start shaking in their boots ^_^The material recorded using the Raw FS5 output to Cinema DNG functionality of the 7Q+ does not conform exactly to the S-Log 2 curve. You need to create a proper LUT or, if you use Da Vinci Resolve, you can follow this very interesting video guide:youtube.com/watch?v=FfFqXta5uA8Yep, it's about the FS7 + Odyssey7Q, but the workflow with the FS5 + Odyssey7Q+ is exactly the same. Here is the page where you can download FS5 LUTs:convergent-design.com/component/fss/…Camera: Sony PXW-FS5 + Raw upgradeRecorder: Convergent Design Odyssey 7Q+Lenses: P+S Technik zooms 37-70mm anamorphic T 3.5 (sample) and 18-35mm T 2.0 (Sigma rehoused)Grading: Da Vinci Resolve StudioDOWNLOAD THE PRO RES HQ 4K DCI FILE FROM VIMEO PAGE.https://vimeo.com/172116664

Wow impressive! I mean I only viewed it on my phone but it looks good. At work we have the FS7 and FS5 and while I love th FS5 body style and varrible ND I have loved the FS7 for having 10 bit 4k and Cine EI color space. This raw upgrade might be the upgrade I was looking for on projects where I really need to push the s log in 4k (internally I havent been impressed by the 8 bit s log 3). Makes me reconsider the FS5.

I upgraded my FS5 to the RAW firmware yesterday, and installed the upgrade to my Odyssey as well. And I'm in total agreement with Filippo. This is an unbelievable tool with the power of RAW unleashed. Sure, it costs some coin to get from stock FS5 to RAW-ready, but the ability to strip the kit down to shoot internal 4K when you need to, and then to rig it up for RAW DNG shooting just makes it an amazingly versatile camera.

A couple of years ago I shot a feature with FS700 RAW to Odyssey 7Q, processing cDNG in AE via ACR. The workflow now is greatly simplified. And yes- the results were startling- much better than expected. Much better than it should have been for the cost of the hardware.
