FS5: FS5 Manual

Thank you. I am a bit disappointed with the color controls. The camera has a simple 6 color matrix along with 2 "memory" color correction adjustments. Not bad, but no where close to my PX270 with a full color matrix and 13 color correction hues. I am sure a lot will want to shoot with the LOG settings and do not care about in-camera setup, but it is very important to me. Manufacturers can play ball or be stingy in this area. I just want to be able to escape the "Sony Look" if I go with this camera! :)...

Interesting that it supports a recording clip to span from Card A to Card B, but it isn't "seamless", meaning you'll have a lapse in footage. Might be something to note for doc style shooters looking to grab this and shoot long interviews.

The way I read that is that when playing back on the camera it's not seamless. When you get the footage out into your computer, it will be as one recording.

I read it as there is a bit of space left on the card as it switches to the next card. In other words it does not completely fill the card. But the video is seamless when edited in a NLE. And playing back in camera is not continous.

"• Seamless playback of relay-recorded movies with this camcorder is not supported."

Ahh, I suppose that makes more sense. I read it as it being a limitation of clips that were "relay-recorded with this camcorder", not that it was a limitation of in-camera playback.

I will know of sure soon, mine is on the way.

I am very exited about this cam, as I am getting older the FS7 is getting heavier. I did a 4 hr shoot onboard a train a few weeks ago, on the shoulder and cradled, I was really wishing I had the smaller FS5 for that shoot. At least I will for the next shoot.

I guess I am getting old. I remember shooting all day on the shoulder with BetaSP cams and not even thinking about it. So for me it is great that miniaturization is working so well these days.
