I am doing a shoot involving some lab / micro surgery work with an optical microscope. It's not a super powerful magnification, the field of view of the subject when looking through the microscope with my eyes is probably about 2mm 5mm across. In doing some preliminary tests, just placing a camcorder as close as I could to a microscope eyepiece, I was able to get an image but the field of view was very cropped and much more magnified than looking with my eyes, maybe 1mm across or less and the black edges of the border of the frame show a bit. Though I have a plethora of camcorders, I'm thinking of using my FS100 for this, just because it has phenomenal light sensitivity and will just alleviate some of the low-light issues whens shooting this way.
I do have dedicated macro adapters and lenses, but I'd prefer not to interfere with the lab's setup and just use their microscope rather than replacing it with my own macro stuff. I have seen microscope adapters for DSLRs, and I'm pretty sure this would work with the FS100, but before I go ahead, I'd like to ask people with experience doing this for their advice.
Regards,
-Keith
