FS100 What shutter speed to best match film?

From what I understand, the 48 setting is supposed to be like having a 180 degree angle. However, I was wondering if people felt a higher setting such as 50 or 60 was better in getting the film look for this camera. Essentially, I am curious to know what other people are using as their normal shutter speed. Also, for 60 fps slow motion shooting I think the camera defaults to a 60 shutter speed. Is that what most people are using as well?

Well a 180 degree shutter for 60fps would be like shooting 1/120 at 60fps. I usually go with that for 60fps, although I am not afraid to go up to 250. Some people say that it looks awkward or jittery at 250 for 60fps, but I really do not see it.

Its all personal preference. Personally, I end up shooting a lot 1/60 shutter (at 24p). I just like it a little better for motion and action then 48. Personal opinion though. Some will only shoot by the 180 degree rule for some reason and refuse to do anything else.

I shoot 1/48 for 24p

I shoot 1/60 up to 1/120 for 60p.

I can see the jitteriness when shooting 1/120 and higher at 24p with NO problem. It's harder to see in 60p because the higher frame rate makes the image more fluid. The lack of motion blur at 24p though is easy to see at higher rates. I use it because I like it for certain things.

24p, 1/48 for film look.

For 60p, it really depends on what kind of look you're going for. Also, one other big factor is how much motion there are in the scene or how fast the subject is moving. For example, when shooting a fairly slow moving scene/subject, it won't matter whether you're shooting at 1/250 or 1/10000 shutter speed -- both will completely freeze the subject (no motion blur). At 60p, a fast moving subject combined with fast shutter speed will definitely give you that typical stuttered look, which you may or may not want.
