V4.0 released today and VFR in pn mode included. This rocks for us avid users, because now we dont have to switch to p2 cards for our VFR shots and then back to the fs100 for regular speed footage anymore. I know this will be a great new tool for me on the set. Im upgrading mine this afternoon.

Sweeeeeet. Does this fix that annoying AUDIO_INSUFFICIENT_MEDIA error too? I honestly haven't attempted 720pN withe FS-100 in many many months, so I'm not sure if that was on Avid's end, and maybe was fixed in one of the later software releases.

Anyway, this is very cool...

Good news!

I used my firestore twice and now it says NO DISK DETECTED. I cant believe it is that junky, no offense to anyone who likes it.

Does this: - Organize P2 auto XML generation now supports multiple segment clips - mean that spanned clips will now be recognized properly in the Avid? Before, a long recording would be busted into multiple pieces, the length of which would depend on the recording format (ie. file size limitations). That would be very nice, as well...

We've had great luck with our Firestore. I run around with it like an idiot, and it's held up marvelously. I've even dropped to stupid thing twice while it was on, apparently to no detriment. When it burns me, I'll hate it, but for now, it's working just fine. Like any piece of technology, there are sure to be lemons now and again.

Yeah I did a 1080 timelapse and brought it into Avid and all the clips were 2:18:00 it took me an hour to peice them together.

Yeah my firestore is definately a lemon, and they wont take it back because its past 30 days. Total waste of $2k

Hmm... I thought there was at least a 90 day warranty on it. Could be wrong, though.

I found the easiest way to deal with the broken clips (at least prior to what I'm hoping is a fix for this issue), was to dump the master clips from the Firestore into a bin, and then lay the clips end to end in a sequence. Then, I shoot the sequence out as a QT ref, and reimport into the project. This achieves two things:

1) one nice, long masterclip, and
2) a consolidate process that copies the media from the FS-100 onto my media drives

Works a treat. Hopefully though, that won't be necessary at all anymore (fingers firmly crossed).

yeah thats kinda what I did, I peiced them altogether which took a while though because there must have been about 50-60 of a sunset and it was difficult to see what had moved in a 2 minute span, then i just did a video mixdown. i would gladly sell the firstore and cough up the cash for 16gb p2s
