FS100 + Samyang 8mm

Just wanted to put out that was a sick screen grab...

Makes me want to go use my 8mm to film some more skateboarding.

Oh and for what it's worth I've had these same odd patterns,
always when shooting at a very bright object. Here's a grab
from my Luck & Odds documentary where I had this same problem.

When shooting to the sun with Samyang 8mm Fisheye (EF mount + dump adapter), strange RGB pattern appears around sun... (shot with aperture 16-20)

Anyone know what is this??

I would say it's flare from the lens itself, i don't think it would be in that position if it's the sensor reflection we've been talking about, that's been opposite of the source, especially when it's in a corner. Does it move around when you move the camera? You're running it very closed 16-20, perhaps this is making it worse, you could be seeing diffraction issues with a lens that closed. The question is that if you change aperture how does the image change? It's a pretty odd looking pattern for sure but that is a fish eye so perhaps they're related!

cheers
Paul

This is a reflection from the OLPFilter. Nothing really you can do about it. The RED One has the same problem, as well as the Scarlet and the Epic. Nothing to worry about.
