FS100 problem

I am getting an error that reads "this is not a movie file" when I try and open the files via QT.

The only thing different from my normal shooting set up is I used the "cine like V" scen file which records in "film cam" mode (from the HVX). I'm guessing this is the problem. I know you're supposed to be in vid cam mode when using the FS100 but for over cranking or under cranking you have to switch to film cam mode on the camera so i'm not 100% sure.

I haven't tried playing the clips back from the FS100 through the camera viewer yet and won't be able to until later tonight.

either way, is there anything that can be done to save this footage? thanks

is it all files or just a couple? the fs100 has a repair clip function so that may fix it. shooting on film cam mode shouldnt cause any issue, thats what i shoot with my fs100. but see if the clips will play out of the fs100 onto the cam, and if the repair clip doesn't work hook up the fs100 to your computer via the DV port and you can use it as a deck to play back the footage.

seems like a lot of fs100 issues as of late.. better go knock on wood...

What format did you shoot in? I had a similar problem a while ago shooting DVCPRO 50 in 24PA. I just streamed out from the FiresStore and captured.

.

Playing back the files through the camera doesn't work either. It's just digital snow, with a few frames here and there that resemble normal video.

any suggestions?

You dont have to be in Vid cam mode to record to the FS.

Have you resolved this? If not can you please give some more info on

FS recording set up

Camera recording set up.

I just did a series of tests with the same camera and FS-100.

Every recording setting (1080I/24P, 720P/30P, 720P/60P etc) all work just fine. The only time I get this problem to repeat is if I record in 720P/24P then have the FS-100 set to Quicktime N.

I can record natively any shooting format except for 720/24P. Has anyone seen this problem? Would that be a problem on the camera end or the FS-100?

The camera recently came back from servicing, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
