This is the first time I am posting here, and look forward to the community's kind response and support.
I have a HVX200 (PAL) and I bought a used FS100 - however, even after reading the firestore manual on how to connect the camera so it would start recording - it suggests changing the 1394 setting, under Option 9, in the camera's menu, to 'BOTH' which didnt work. Later, after reading some posts on this forum, I saw somewhere to change the same setting to 'EXT' - I tried that but it still does not start recording. Just to establish the present settings, which are: DVCPRO HD footage (format to record), it's in TAPELESS mode, and I tried recording with P2, P2 PN, & QUICKTIME media (non-worked). The firestore is version 3.0, and I formatted it before use as well. Lastly, when I press the display button a couple time on the firestore, it shows DV NTSC - not sure if this is the reason for the firestore not recoridng the data. The camera and the firestore do communicate, since each time when i click record on the camera, the firestore blinks, goes of the pause mode, but no recording takes place.
I would really appreciate some help to trouble shoot through this delimma, since I hve been trying for over one month now without any luck at all, and havent yet been able to test the camera as result.
