FS100 Music Video

Hey everyone,

Just now got the final copy of a music video I did for Lily Elise (one of the finalists on Fox's "The Voice"). Figured I would share it with all of you.

Majority of the video was shot on the Sony FS100. Some parts (most of the slides) were shot on the 5DII. Hard to tell between the two, so it's good that they were so easy to cut together. I had my concerns going in.

Lighting consisted of an arri kit, softboxes, silks, flags, reflects, etc. Nothing too fancy.

Would love to get some comments & feedback.

Looks amazing! Definitely a unique voice, just listening to the music, you almost half expect it to be someone like Beyonce.

Very good! I particularly liked the exterior parts. They looked more filmic to me. Very well done. I spotted a bit of moire on some fabric here and there. Must be the 5D.

Great job!

Looks good. Not my cup o' tea music wise, but a good looking video. (I think the girl is real talented, but she needs a much better stylist... IMHO.). What lenses, picture profile settings and post grading did you use? Also, was the 5DII used on the roof, by the pool? Her sweater had a lot of moire artifacts (Or is that Vimeo compression issues?).

Thanks for the compliments guys!

In regards to the FS100 we used a sigma 20mm f/1.8 a samyang 35mm f/1.4 and a samyang f/1.8 --- Picture profile used was ABNorm and then graded. I find ABNorm to be a bit more towards the neutral side so I find it grades nicely. Since I was the colorist on this also I played with the idea of using Glog. But without a lut, I didn't want to deal with the extra work involved. ABNorm worked well enough.

Looking through again, the 5DII was actually used a lot more then I initially thought. The shoot was broken up into two dates with about a month difference between them (extremely odd I know) and that happened to be the span of time where I purchased the FS100. Everything on the roof and inside the room was the 5DII. The FS100 was used for all the outdoor portions (that aren't on the roof) including walking through the city, both people on the bridge, etc.
