FS100, Metabones EF Speedbooster and EF vs EF-S lenses

Hi folks,

New here but have lurked for years. Hi.

Just got a pre-NAB deal on my first "real" camera..FS100. It is coming with a Metabones EF Speedbooster as well as a Metabones "plain" EF adapter.

I am confused about the usability of EF vs EF-S lenses on these adapters in conjunction with the FS100. Metabones website, for example, says they are not compatible with EF-S lenses but I think they are speaking of using them on FF cameras.

Would someone mind educating me on using either or both of the EF and EF-S lens types on an FS100 with these adapters. The camera is coming with an EF-S 18-55 so I presume they can be used but I also see folks using Canon EF FF lenses with them.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Well that just makes too much sense. Wow, that is a "duh" moment for me. Thanks for your patience and response.

EF-S lenses are made for APS-C cameras, but the speedbooster needs lenses made for 35mm aka "full-frame" aka EF-lenses to work.
Som elenses made for APS-C can work on the speedbooster but generally they won't.
