fs100 color space through vegas and fcp

So I'm working on a project with someone, shot on his fs100. He is doing most of the editing and color correcting, but at times I'm using vegas to do some fixes. I'm outputting uncompressed mov for him (currently using photo-jpeg)

Now Studio RGB and Computer RGB has always been a point of confusion for me, but It's gotten more confusing now with the cross-play between PC/Mac and Vegas/FCP.

Here is what I have experienced thus far:

When I view the original AVCHD files on my PC they appear fairly contrasty. When I edit them and output (without any changes) to uncompressed photo-jpeg, they have less contrast.

Applying the StudioRGB to ComputerRGB levels filter on output, causes the .mov files to match the .mts files exactly (more or less).

The opposite is true when comparing my output files to his prores conversion.

I guess at the end of the day all that matters is that my output matches his prores files, but I was hoping for some further clarification on what's going on. He's not a codec/tech guru and I'm not an expert on mac/fcp, so I'm wondering if my results are standard and if I'm doing it right.
