FS100 Clipwrap MTS conversion issues

I have had quality issues with Clipwrap and I'm not sure where the problem lies. I have just gotten a new macpro and two new monitors. I am shooting on the SONY FS100 at 1080p60. I used Clipwrap to convert the MTS files to Apple ProRes. I have made sure that my FCP7 project sequence settings are corresponding with 1080p60 footage. However when I watch the converted clips in QT the footage flickers/stutters and in the FCP project the footage glitches.

I have been talking with tech services at ClipWrap but they seem to think my footage is fine. This is very frustrating b/c the footage (when watching playback on my TV) is beautiful and glitch free, however anything I do with Clipwrap whether its wrapping the clips then converting them or just converting them straight away, has drastically affected the quality to the point where it flickers/glitches.

Has anybody experienced this or heard of these issues with Clipwrap? Am i doing something obviously wrong? On my old laptop I had the same issues but assumed it was due to a very old system.

Another detail that may be important: on one of the many cards of footage there is both 1080p24 and 1080p60, can this be messing up all of my conversions even the other cards consist solely of footage shot at 1080p60? Just a thought.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks!

I have got the glitching if I just leave it at "Don't alter source," which Clip Wrap rewraps into h264. When done this way, it stutters very noticeably.

But when I do any variation of ProRes, it plays back perfectly smooth without glitch.

All my footage is conformed in camera to 23.976 or 29.97 so I never have to change frame rates in Clip Wrap. For 1080 60p, I just set the capture to 24fps FX instead of the default 60 PS. Not sure if that does anything though. But I am on the FS700, so not sure how different that is from the FS100

I ONLY use Clip Wrap if I have to deliver footage to clients. Otherwise I just Premiere which works PERFECT with AVCHD footage. I used Final Cut for 10 years since version 1. I used Premiere for 3 hours and switched instantly just because of the transcoding issue. Plus, I use a lot of After Effects and other Adobe products and Premiere integrates so well.

Final 7 is very dated at this point, especially since the transcoding takes a lot more disk space for no quality boost vs. working natively, and time to transcode it.

FCP7 is tied to a single proc and 32bit OS, there is little wonder it has a hard time keeping up with running long GoP no matter how much horsepower the computer has, FCP7 just can't use it

try running the same clip in PP or Resolve or Smoke on Mac or recent Avid MC (the old 32bit verions don't count, same limitations as FCP)

the issues is not with clipwrap, it's with FCP
