fs100-by swapping gain & iso i can now store 6 presets!

this might be obvious to others but wasn't to me until this morning, so i apologize in advance.

under the camera menu, we have the opportunity to select gain or iso.

i usually do gain and select 0 +6 +9

i was fiddling with the iso select option and put in 500 1600 3200

when i toggled back and forth between the select gain/iso, i realized that the 0 gain and 500 iso were the same (obviously!).

then why store both?

i could use the gain to increase the light by smaller increments 0 +6 +9

and i could use iso for the bigger jumps when needed 1600 2400 3200

i can now store six presents rather than three.

well, live and learn!

i still find the fs100 to a rock solid indoor interview camera.

Youe idea isn't that bad, but I insist on having ISO's thab db's.

While others think about their C300 and FS700 because 8bit isn't enough, I still use my FS100 for documentaries and corporate stuff. If you know how your camera works best in different settings it's more than pleasing.
I only wish to have the expanded focus button on the handgrip like the FS700 got it...
 
Not sure what you mean here. So when you want to use the additional 3 presets, you have to go into the menu and change display from ISO to Gain (or vise versa)?

yup yup.

all that is needed is a simple and quick menu change.

often shooters pick one-iso or the other-gain.

by setting up both to offer stepped values you can have 6 presets instead of 3.

well if you limit auto gain to 0db and limit auto iso to base iso, following your trick you actually get 8 presets.
