FS100 and A77 - Same image quality?

Aside from the lack of audio inputs, does anyone know the key technical differences in the video processing pipeline between the two cams.. They both do 1920 @ 60p but the A77 is coming from a 24.sumn' MP sensor. Is it line skipping?

Definitely not the same. Too many hardware and software differences. DSLR has 24MP which necessitates lineskipping/cropping, FS100 does not. And in my experience, DSLR gamma and picture options and encoders leave a lot to be desired.
 
Even if its not line-skipping at the sensor, down-sampling a 24 MP image in real time without alaising takes an enormous amount of processing power, and I'm willing to bet that the A77 does not have it, nor does it have a AA filter appriopriate for a 1080P image, so it is going to alias, though probobaly less then the Canon DSLRs. Also, because its a 24 MP sensor its going to have less Dynamic Range and be a much noiser image then the FS100 (and its ~4MP sensor)

If it was scanning the sensor at >400MP/s and was able to do a quality debayer, processing and downscale for >800MB/s of pixel data then the camera would probably look great and have lots of dynamic range, maybe more than the FS100. But there is only a 0.0001% chance that is actually happening in camera. 99.9999% chance its line skipping and will have bad aliasing or cropping and will be noisy and small sensor.

Also apparently the A77 only goes up to iso1600 in video mode according to recent reports?
 
better chance of the 5n and vg20 being in the ballpark, they are both rated with the same maximum gain, which implies the sensor design is at least similar. Likely not the same processor though, so bound to be some difference. No point in idle speculation, I'm waiting for some real world side by side comparisons.
