Up for sale is my PMW-EX1, supplied in its original box with original accessories, plus two ADDITIONAL 8GB SxS cards, one ADDITIONAL standard-capacity battery, and one ADDITIONAL high-capacity battery, as well as one Hoodman H-400 Sunshade, and one Hoya 77mm Pro1 Digital UV Filter.

WARRANTY WITH SONY PRIMESUPPORT RUNS OUT ON JAN 21st, 2010.

For those not in the know, it truly is a fantastic, feature packed camera, capable of capturing some really amazing imagery.

I originally purchased this camera from authorised Sony dealer, CVP, in the UK, so you can be guaranteed that NONE of the items in this sale are grey imports.

The camera, including accessories, are approximately 1 year and 11 months old, and are in brand new condition, both physically, aesthetically and electronically. There are no scratches, scrapes, dents, scuffs or any other flaws to either the body of the camera, the lens, or any of the accessories. I pride myself in taking exceptional care of my camera equipment.

The EX1 has been used for less than 100hrs, and does not exhibit any of the backfocus / vignetting / battery draining problems reported in some of the earlier models.

Hey, if you get the money first, i don't see where is the risk except for the buyer to receive nothing.
anyway for a 2 yesrs old camera, it is a bit expensive, but i would be interested. located in Switzerland.

Well, OK, I'm prepared to ship internationally, I'm just not comfortable, personally speaking, shipping something this expensive overseas. But, I guess if the buyer is prepared to pay for the insurance, etc, then it is up to them!

I'll alter my original post to reflect this.

But the main point stays, your proposal is more expensive than a new EX1R purchased at B&H.
with currency change your 4050 pounds turn to 6700 swiss francs
B&H sell the EX1R for 6300$ (inclued shipment) that turns to be 6500 swiss francs
This camera would be ok around 3000 pounds .
and since the new EX1R release, the EX1 is loosing value very fast. (i know , i already own an Ex1)
or try to add some cards, battery or other accessory (they are expensive )
 
Don't forget, if importing goods from the US, you'd be charged import duties / TAX. Plus, the camera wouldn't be covered by European warranty.

you are right , for europe it would be around 20% taxe, but for switzerland it is only 8% and i do not need warranty on new equipement (and yours is probably not warrantied either).
yuo would be probably luckier with a french guy taxed at 25%.
try to post on www.repaire.net, it is the french equivalent of DVXuser.

The warranty runs out on Jan 21st, 2010.

So you're getting a total of THREE 8GB SxS cards, THREE batteries, and making a saving of nearly two grand.

i told you, it's way too highly priced.
People who ask for 2nd hand usually want bare camera at lowest price possible. And the others who are looking for such camera will go to the new EX1-R. There is already a lot of people looking for getting rid of their old EX1 to purchase the new one, so market is pretty saturated.
Since you look in a hurry for sale, try to lower price on ebay.
You set a starting price that is almost the maximum, so nobody wants to bid.
you can put an auction with reserve price at 4500$ and start as low as 3000$ , so you can see if people rush on it or not.
