FS: Nvidia Quadro FX-1400 PCI-E Video Card

no.

it is a high end video card that has to go into a slot in a pc.

laptops are pretty much a closed system where you can't change things like video cards.

high end compared to what is in a laptop.

i can't remember what i paid for it. i know that right now it is going for $531 on cdw.com

i figured out when i got it because i sold the card i replaced it with on here as well.

there are some really high end nvidia quadro cards but i figure if someone is looking to spend $3,000 (wholesale) on a pny quadro fx 5500g or $1,628 (wholesale) on an fx 4500 wouldn't be looking at my posting for a used fx 1400!

Using your card, do you know if it can display output to one monitor ndependently of a desktop running on the other?
I use PPRO 2.0.

Thanks

just to be clear, when you say monitor are you meaning a regular lcd or crt or a production monitor that uses composite or svideo jacks?

i used the card with premiere pro and i always had two dvi lcd's setup.

you can choose to have the program span both monitors, you can have the two monitors mirror each other and just about anything in between.

that is one of the best things about the nvidia quadro stuff is that you can configure all sorts of setups and then save that setup so you can switch between setups.

that and there is no hunting for drivers. all you need is this card and you goto www.nvidia.com

click on download drivers

then choose graphics driver ->quadro->windows xp etc

then you download the latest version.

i really like not having to hunt around for the specific drivers for the specific card.

i don't see any need to get anything other than quadro fx cards. i may work my way up the food chain of fx cards.

i also have one of their other cards that lets you run 4 monitors!

i ran 3 identical dvi lcd's for a whlie but between the lcd's and my production crt i found that it required too much panning of my eyes to take in all that desktop real estate!

Using this card, can you run your edit software on one monitor and then run only the output independently on the other?
