The camera other than the firewire port is in great conditions. I will confirm total hours on p2 side I know it is 200+range and on the tape heads 50.

The reason for the sell is I updated to the 500 earlier this year and have had only a couple of shoots with the camera and don't want it to just sit and collect dust.

Sell terms: Paypal or check. Product ships once payment is clear and I will take care of the paypal fees. I expect the buyer to pay for shipping so you can decide how it is shipped.

If you are buying the package, I am in Chattanooga and if you are in the Nashville, Atlanta, or Knoxville area I have no problem coordinating delivery in person. If buying items separately, they will be shipped.

Please email with any inquiries. Photos will be posted shortly.

While I'm also selling an HVX on the forum, I hope there are sufficient customers for both of our systems!

I might gently suggest, however, that you might need to price your HVX to reflect the cost to repair the Firewire port. $3500 with 1 4gb card for camera with a repair issue might be a bit high.

As a guideline, Sony is offering a "trade-up" program. They are offering $2700 for HVX200 with no cards but with all factory-supplied accessories. It presumes a fully-functioning camera but I honestly doubt they would test every trade they receive. Most likely they would just recycle competitors cameras or push them out the door to a caveat-emptor liquidator.

I tend to look at actual prices recieved in eBay as guidelines (and only guidelines) for purchase and sale of used gear. I would pay more for gear advertised on a forum like DVXUSER or any of the other pro forums owing to greater trust of other pros.

Good luck to both of us!

Agreed; I am in the market for a basic second-hand hvx kit. I've used the hvx quite a lot in the past with Adobe OnLocation for monitoring, so a broken firewire is a bit of a nuisance for me personally. The firewire port can also be used as an alternative to copy over p2 data, correct? I would definitely like a fully functional camera, even if it costs a tiny bit more.

The 4 pin connection is just not that great. And from what I can tell from just normal pluging and unpluging the connector just got dammaged. I have seen a couple of threads on here so you may want to search that for more info.

Just so happened I did run across a thread related to this 4-pin issue where footage was lost during streaming. Although nothing definitive as to whether it was the FireStore or the connector.

This adaptor is available to sure-up and make more robust the 4-pin port on the camera:http://www.siniarchproductions.com/lsdsgn/fws01.htm

The HPX170 will have a locking 6-pin
