This is as new as it gets without the price of new. I've only used the panasonic tapes (pictured) in the camera, and I cannot find any scratches anywhere on the body. Even the tripod mount doesn't seem to have the usual scratches, although I've used this camera on a tripod.
Everything fits in the soft case nicely. I have all the accessories and batteries and chargers in the bottom of the case, and the camera sits in the middle of
the case. You can open it from the top to access the camera, as well as from the front (as pictured) to access the camera.
