Here, friends, is a heck of a deal on a rock-solid, dedicated editing box. This was put together by Ken Bell and his crew at DV Line, so you know it's quality, and you know it works. No amped-up Wal-Mart cheapie, this. To the specs:

Full-tower Antec alloy case w/550-watt power supply, charcoal color
Pentium 4 3.0Ghz 800Mhz frontside bus, hyperthreading
1 Gig PC3200 DDRAM
Asus P4C800-E-DX Motherboard
Windows XP Pro
Asus GeForce FX 5200 video card w/128 megs RAM
120GB WD system drive
400GB WD Storage (2 200GB Drives, RAID 0-striped)
Sony DVD-R/RW +R/RW Drive
DVD ROM
Pyro Firewire Card
Floppy
Logitech Keyboard/Optical Cordless Mouse
Vegas 4+DVD
System Rebuild DVD
Sealed Copy Windows XP Pro
Copy Vegas 4+DVD
All Documentation

Doubtless the computer cuckoos among you will notice the specs aren't quite cutting-edge. Which is because this box is 2 years old. Still, it's a pretty formidable package, in absolutely new condition. And I need to sell it. So---

Original Cost: $2642. Used for a couple of short projects, and essentially sitting ever since. I'd like to get $1500 plus shipping. Paypal preferred. Those of you who've bought stuff from me can confirm I describe things accurately, deal honestly, and ship quickly. If you've got an offer somewhere in the general vicinity of my asking, email me at aatkinson@wwlp.com and/or patatkinsonsi@att.net.

I think this is a genuine deal, kids, even considering 2 years of faster-cheaper in the Windows editing world. Thanks!

Absolutely must sell. Did I mention this box has never seen the Internet, so there's no spyware, no viruses-- essentially nothing but Mr. Gates' OS and Sony's editing software sitting happily and cleanly on board? Also, I never registered Vegas+DVD, so your upgrade to Vegas 6+DVD3 would cost you just that, an upgrade price. Heck, if you'll take this off my hands, I'll throw in a spindle of DVD-R's. And your screaming-deal/bargain-basement/resistance-is-futile/fire-sale price is now:

$1200.00 American, shipping to your very door included. Make me a ballpark offer, and it's yours!!

Prospective sale fell through, so we're bumpin' here. Anybody? Anybody know anybody who may be interested? Steer 'em this way! "Ballpark offer" is now "Somewhere-in-the-general-vicinity offer"!

Okay, last price drop before it gets traded to my local used-computer outlet---which I'd really hate to do, but...

$950 !! Buy now if not sooner!

I wish I was in the market for this kind of computer. It sounds like a great deal. If I recall, you were also selling some monitors. Did you ever sell them?

Grasshopper

Thanks, Grasshopper. Yeah, the monitors are spoken for. Kinda wish the computer was, also, although I know it's not quite cutting-edge these days. It's still a heck of a package, with both hardware and software readily upgrade-able. Lots of open PCI slots, plenty of USB and Firewire connectors (I'll toss in another Pyro DV card I've never installed), room for RAM expansion... hope someone out there takes it soon. Helluva bargain.
