RE: Raincovers for VX2100

Hello,

I checked the specs on each rain cover and did some research on your camera- although I'd love to make a sale here, I want to make sure you get the right gear for your cam.

You are probably best going with one specifically made for your sony. The reason for this is that the VX2100 mike is located directly atop the camera body, as opposed to off to the side like the hotshoe mike mounts for the panny cams.

The only one I could find for the VX2100 is made by Portabrace:

It's a little pricey at $199. BHPhotovideo has the same exact model number for $179.95, but you'd have to backorder it as they don't have it as a regularly stocked item:

If you absolutely had to go with one of the rain slickers that I'm selling for budget reasons (they are a heck of alot cheaper) then Iwould recommend the last of the three, the Petrol PRC-PA-DVX-N.

The Petrol site touts the PRC-PA-DVX-N as being good for all small Mini DV cams. But I would really only do this if you were running XLR cables to the cam and using an external mike, boom etc. In this case, you could just leave the mike covered under the slicker, so the side mount wouldn't be a problem. Still kind of seems like square peg in a round hole to me though, but it might work.

If you do decide to go with one that I am selling, just drop me a line. Hope this helps... :)
