Really? I thought this statement summed it up:

This DVD is most suitable for someone who just bought the camera and has problems understanding the brief explanations in the manual.

For advanced users there isn't anything you really will learn, as it basically just covers the menus, there is no shooting tips or overly technical advanced information. "

i'm a beginner as far as the dvx goes. when i finished watching the dvd, i was left wondering wtf? i felt i didn't really learn much as they didn't provide enough info on what certain menu items do. i learn more here and in the manual rather than that dvd. i also purchased steve mullen's guide so i'll be waiting on that. my first gig w/ the dvx is a 2 camera shoot in a theatrical environment. i was hoping that the dvd would get me the basics but instead i will be reading every single page of the manual and steve mullen's guide, and of course hang out at dvxuser. i've owned a vx1000 until last year so this dvx is a monster to learn?! i just got my dvx100a today so i can finally start playing around and test it w/ the quickstreams :D by the way, i purchased the dvd before your review and i agree, it should be included w/ the dvx!

Yeah I hear you.. most people I showed the DVD to where dissapointed, even people that dont even use the DVX. Best part for me was the nancy stuff at the very begining, but as soon as dude started going through the menus it fell flat. The ad at the end kind killed it.

The Steve Mullen guide however, is priceless. Very good for the $$.

yeah, i liked nancy's intro as well and seeing the dvx in action during the november shoot.  thanks for the congrats!  i've been hangin around your site since it first launched because i knew some day i would own a dvx.  the information here as well as the members are priceless  :)
