FS 700 and walking on the moon

Just wander why 99% of the footage in Vimeo of the fs700 is slow motion.
Is that the only reason people got this camera?
Do people really get so much kick out of slow motion?
Maybe it is just me that can't see one more slowmo out of the fs700.
Hope to see some 24P stuff.

That will change soon - it's just people playing with their new toy, and the slow motion is one of the most visual features of the camera. But the new-ness will wear off soon, and then we'll see less slo-mo coming from ths FS700.

I just got a FS100, and I love it, but in the future I'd like to get the FS700 for an A camera and some measure of futureproofing (although what form that will be remains to be seen).

Im a big fan of mixing a few slow shots into an edit when the music slows down. but i agree with headache62 its just people playing with there new toy even though it is getting played out at this point.
I am much more interested in seeing footage with different lenses and lighting to see what potential this camera has after the slomo hype is over

It won't slow down much. There is a heck of a lot of slo-motion on TV, more than you are really conscious of. People want to see what their eyes cannot see. Slo-motion in affordable cameras is going to narrow the gap between the appeal that photography has over video.

Yes and Yes.

For an adventure/sports photographer there's nothing that even comes close.

Though now I'm finding more reasons to like the '700 all around.

I find the 709 profiles quite good - just because Sony calls some gammas 'Cinema' doesn't automatically translate to an immediate film look.

I think the camera has lots of possibilities that go far beyond dancing bimbos in a slow motion water fight, as entertaining as they may be.

I've enjoyed the variety of all clips that have been posted and am sure that as time passes, we'll see more than the initial tests that new owners are posting as they experiment.

Regards,
Scott

LMAO! Yeah, but they looked pretty darned good to me. Didn't even notice the slow-mo!
