Up for sale is a lightly used Steadicam Merlin kit (plastic gimbal). I'm selling it for $525 shipped.

I bought this for use with an HVX200, Nikon D7000, Nikon D90, and Sony VG10, and it has served me well for the past 6 months... but my office recently bought a heavy duty Steadicam Zephyr, so lately, I hardly use the Merlin.

Some things to note:
-The unit has the older plastic gimbal, but the gimbal works well with loads as heavy as an HVX200 + extended battery + shotgun mic. I have used the newer metal gimbal on my friend's Merlin, and I saw no difference in performance.

-The "locator pin" is missing from this kit. This is the small screw forward of the tripod socket screw that helps stop video camcorders from "twisting" left to right while mounted. This screw isn't a necessary component if you put a piece of gaffer's tape or rubber non-skid between the camera and the mounting plate, which is the solution I've used the entire time I've owned this rig. A replacement for this screw is available from B&H for less than $10 here if you feel that it's necessary:

-All other components of the Merlin are included in the carrying case. This means you will receive the following:
1 Merlin steadicam
1 Merlin mounting plate
1 mounting-plate-to-tripod foot to quickly transfer the camera from your Merlin to a set of sticks
2 starter weights (EDITED - found the 2nd one!)
1 finish weight
6 heavy weights
1 1/4"x20 mounting screw
1 3/8" mounting screw
1 Merlin Steadicam case
1 Instructional DVD

I accept PayPal, and will only ship to PayPal-confirmed US addresses! EMAIL is the best way to reach me!

Pics will follow shortly.
