Selling my homemade depth of field adapter. For those on a budget and can't afford a brevis or redrock. This unit is based on edweirdo's design found here.
http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=45972
The unit is in good working condition. It took a lot of time and effort for me to build this unit. It has a Canon FD mount installed. The ground glass is the hard to find nikon F3 type D screen. The macro dioptre is a non-achromat Asian brand, but none the less I found the chromatic aberation to be minimal. The unit is best used with a Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 I used it with my DVX100P and DVX100A with some modifications. I have since sold my DVX100A and upgraded to an HVX200 which the unit doesn't fit. Owners of the original DVX100 (P) may require an addtional macro because of that cameras longer minimum focusing distance.
Below are some images of the unit as well as a picture of the adapter all decked out on my DVX100A. The sale is for the unit and caps only. It doesn't come with any lenses, matte box, rails, or follow focus. Here are some clips of the unit in action. http://www.vidwerk.ca/dv/35mmDOF.html The footage with the motorcycle was shot with the DVX100A and has less chromatic aberation than the army footage(original DVX100P) due to the modification and removal of an additional macro lens. In the first photo I've added arrows to indicate marks I made on the unit. The lower mark is for proper alignment with the DVX100A camera and the upper mark is an alignment indicator with the red dot on FD lenses which will be at the top when fully screwed onto the camera.
I accept paypal only and I will ship anywhere in the world.
Make me an offer.

Cheers,

vidwerk.

Hey there, would it work with the DVX100b???

Yes it will. If you're in or near the GTA, you're more than
welcome to come by and test it out.
I'm just uploading footage from it to vimeo now.
I'll post when it's online.
Cheers,

that's some nice looking footage.

Thanks.
I should also point out that there are 2 clips shot without the adapter.
One is the telephoto shot of the motorcylce and car coming towards the camera. The other is the clip directly after of the motorcylce and car passing in front of the camera.

Cheers,

This is a great deal, I've seen this DOF adapter in action. If I had a DVX, I'd be on top of this thing for sure.

Nicely done! Your footage looks damn good to me :)

I have an HVX200 as well. Are you planning on making one for your new camera? If so, I'd totally be interested in either helping out or buying one off you.

Take care,
Dale

P.S. I'm in downtown Toronto too, which is why I would offer to help out

Hi Dale;
With the use of an 82mm to 72mm step down ring, the unit works with the HVX200 in SD mode. Because the HVX200's lens is non-centric, in HD it requires zooming in further which is beyond its minimum focusing distance.
I have another unit which I started building a while ago that was intend for the HVX200. You are more than welcome to come but and check them out.
Let me know.

Cheers,

vidwerk.
