FS-100 with HVX200E

I posted this on the Cow but thought you guys might know more...

I have a shoot in NYC USA and my producer has hired a FS-100 from a NYC hire company. I'll be taking my HVX & M2 setup and wanted to make sure the Firestore is universal.

Please could you tell me if the FS-100 can work with all HVX camera's worldwide?

I'm assuming as its a Harddrive device it will work globally and HD is an international format.

Thanks
Rory

There are two different FS-100 models; on that is NTSC and one that is PAL. You have to get the one that matches the camera.

If the FS-100 did both in one unit, it'd cost a lot more than it already does. Focus isn't trying to control people, just give the best value they can for the price.

Just like Panasonic (or any othe camera maker) makes seperate versions of cameras for NTSC and PAL. It's technical/economics, not anyone being evil.

Thanks for the info Ben

That truely does suck!

I guess these companies do love to control the people.

One version needs 50hz and the other 60hz even though basically HD is "universal" and not either NTSC or PAL.
