Hello,

I am new to shooting with the FS-100. I shot using the quicktime pn mode on the FS wich then seperates all the files on the drive. I have no problem bringing them into FCP or viewing them. But when I export the sequence it comes out with a master file and a bunch more files and will only play audio. Im wondering what I need to do for it to come out into one file. PLEASE HELP

thanks

The main gripe I have with FS 100 or FS 4Pro HD is the formatting of the discs in Fat 32 which splits the files to the maximum allowed size of 2 GB.

your problem seems to be related to FCP. if the files play fine in FCP you are making some mistake during export. what sort of footage are you importing? DVCPRO HD ?

tim.

hahaha. for some reason i didn't think about that. the drive i am using is indeed formatted Fat32 and that is why it is breaking it up on export. but i am still having the problem. what do you recommend? thanks

Before file transfer I hit "make P2" than I hook the FS up to my computer and copy everything (and I mean EVERYTHING including txt files andwhatnot) on my video raid. From there I throw the clips straight to the timeline - even clips that got splitted apear now as one clip.

But that´s PC and Premiere and not Quicktime so it may be a FCP problem.

2 stories here.....exporting from FCP to a FAt 32 disk will result in 2gb file sizes. but we still wait for the FCP export settings ...without them we can start talking about soccer now :-)

I thought Europeans referred to Soccer as Football?

Im exporting a self contained full res quicktime. 920x720 (16:9), 23.98, DVCPRO HD 720p60.

I can view the exported clips on my imac but the client cannot view them on his PC. weird. Any help would be greatly appreciated

PC can't see QT DVCpro files, unless you have the codec installed. I believe Raylight has software to view.

Anyway, FCP sucks working with P2. You have to have a QT wrapper, etc. I stopped using FCP when I bought my HPX500, and went to GrassValley Edius, It was cheaper and faster, with no rendering.
