I shot a Music Video with the HVX and FS100, and 4 of the Quicktime Clips have turned out White, audio is playing, but the clips are blank, just white. Anybody have any idea how to retrieve the information and save the clips? Thanks, keep on rollin' - DM
Hmm, a shooter just handed me their FS and said all their movies are unreadable. FCP will not open any of the movies, nor will QT Movie Player. All the reference movies DO open in the QT player, but show up as all white(no audio). They DO have data in them though, they vary in size. I just cant tell what format their contents are in. Dumpster wont even open them.
This was their first time shooting 720pn with the new firmware and trying to use the mode that generates native Quicktimes instead of MXFs. Is there some obvious error these unopenable movies paired with white reference movies indicate?
FS-100 Firmware v 4.0.0, FCP 5.1.4, QT 7.1.6, OSX 10.4.10.
the fs 100 is version 3.0. Do you think it could be the Quicktime PN mode that is causing the problem? I don't ever remember putting the fs100 in PN mode though, anyways, thanks for your help...
I just bought my FS100 v4.0 not long ago (purchased it w/v3.0 and updated its firmware through focus enhancements' site).
DMcCann said, " Quicktime Clips have turned out White, audio is playing, but the clips are blank." - I've had this problem too but on an older MacBook Pro, for some reason, even with the purchased version of Quicktime v7.2, the clips remained white but with audio; My newer MacBook (purchased 9/23/07) played it just fine and so did another newer one. There has to be some compatability error with QT v7.2 and older machines... it sounds ridiculous but it's the only thing I can come up with.
If you have access to another machine try importing the clips into it. If not, like David S. said, the PN format is will not output through the firewire but that doesn't solve the audio problem.
I would say try different machines if you can.
