FS-100 initial settings

Folks,

I've got a big interview at the State House tomorrow so I'm a bit on edge.

I also just picked up an FS-100 on Friday. Uncontrollable delays.

What are the initial settings to shoot in HD1080i or 720p? I'd like to shoot with a tape backup, not a card backup. I also kept getting a "No disk detected" message, turned the cam on and off, and got a timecode reading when I shot a test; but then the time code reverted to 00:00. Shots are recording on the tape when I shut off the FS-100, but not with it connected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Doc

I don't think you can shoot to the FS100 and record to tape at the same time.

Personally, you are taking a big risk using the FS100 if you are not familiar with it beforehand. Make better sense and be safer on your side to just shoot to tape in SD. Unless you can do the interview from scratch again if you cock it up.

Just my opinion of course.

Steve, hi;

Yes, I think you're right, the FS-100 has to be saved for another time.

I was also a little concerned because it kept reading, "No Disk Found", which the manual tells me I should call tech support about, which isn't open on weekends...so I turned here. The confirmation of what I'd decided is welcome.

One thing I discovered is the difference in quality between the images on Panasonic tape and Sony. I shot a few tapeloads on Sony tape and it just aint up to the Panny standard.

Thanks Steve!
