Okay apologies if I'm missing something obvious. I was under the impression that variable frame rate was only available to P2 card users. I opted for a FS-100 becuase of my field work flow and just shrugged it off as something I could investigate when storage capacity went up (and prices came down) on cards. Now I've been reading on this forum that vfr IS available using a FS-100, but I'm stumped on how to make it work
FIrst of all; thanks to the genius that came up with the variable frame rate hack on scene files. From what I can tell after numerous searches this is the one work around to allow true over/under cranking with a FS-100 and not a P2 card setup. But my problem is how to use this wonderful knowledge. I've set up a scenefile and loaded it with an overcrank (48fps) recorded some test images, but once loaded the mxf files are still sceen as 60i (or 59.94 actually). I expected this, but then was stumped on how to get the nle to just use (what I hope are) flagged frames per second.
most of the tips I've found on forum searches revolve around FCP. I have embraced the dark side and gone AVID XpressPro on PC (after a dozen years on-lining with AVID Composers and Symphonies on Power Macs) So am wondering if there is a work flow using AXP. More than willing to pony up the bucks for Barry Green's book if for that tip alone, but just need to know if I'm wasting my time with my current hardware/software editing set up
thanks
