FS-100 Amy + Leif Wedding Trailer

First post on DVX, although I have been observing/reading this forum for a while now, but only recently created my own account. Anyways, I just got my FS-100 (with a handfull of Nikon glass and other accessories) and this was my first shoot with it. In addition I have an HVX and T2i.

There's a couple shots from a 7D and T2i in there as well.

I shot this last week in Florida, this is just the trailer, a sort of introduction to their story as a couple. I will post the highlight reel when it is completed in the next month to go along with the full length video.

Critiques and comments appreciated!

Looks good! And your audio is great as well, which goes a long way. were the interviews shot with the FS100 (i assume?)

How about the boom box/beach shots and the first look? Which camera was used?

No real critique, nice job. And welcome aboard. I am a DVX/DSLR shooter also new to the FS100.

After one viewing the only critique that pops into mind without looking for something to critique is the audio needs a little work on the levels. On my monitors there was too big a jump from the dialogue level up to the tracy chapman level between dialogue.

I only just got my FS100 a few days ago and seeing footage like that is inspiring. Thanks!!!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback! Audio is something that I have been working on lately, so I am glad it shows. I wondered if that jump would be a bit much...I will change it when I export it for their DVD, thanks!

@Deepfocus88, those beach shots (minus the first one) were shot with a 7D 15mm fisheye on a glidecam, the first look was a mix between T2i and 7D. That noticeable that they are on different cameras huh? shucks. haha

Oh, and the Interview shots were shot with the FS and the Nikon 50 1.4 on both I believe.

Yeah, I was just wondering since they were outside shots how you handled things. (I haven't really used my FS100 for any exteriors yet, that's why I was asking)

IMO, they are all good shots, and ALL good cameras. Nothing really "sticks out" as being another camera or whatever. I think it's nice to have options when shooting. I'm not getting rid of my Canons any time soon.

Absolutely. The Canon's are a life saver for weddings since they are such a 'run and gun' camera. Glad to hear the shots didn't stick out as much as I thought they may since it was my first time shooting with the FS.
In terms of shooting outside with the FS, it is easy to overexpose things on a bright sunny day, so that was one thing I was constantly monitoring...especially when you are moving to so many different locations in such little time. Throughout the night, I kept wishing there was an adjustment knob like on the HVX for picture profiles, but I believe I can assign some of the buttons on the side to do the same thing. Correct?

Thanks!
