From exporting to DVD

I'm new to macs and am a little fuzzy on the best way to get my videos exported. Is exporting to H.264 from final cut the best way to go? or should I export in prores and run it through compressor as H.264, or another codec completely? Also, whats the best way to get it to a DVD when I'm done?

If you are creating a SD DVD, then export QuickTime/Current Settings/Audio and Video/Self Contained/No Recompression.

Drop that .mov file into Compressor and apply the SD DVD preset equal to the total length of video in minutes.

Import the m2v and ac3 files into DVD SP, and create the DVD.

Do not compress into h.264.
