Friends - new short

Re: Friends - new short

That was really nice Matthew. Felt like a Music Video; done the right way. For someone who has not found his faith yet and is still trying to figure that out I was moved. Nice accompanying choice of music, great Color, nice comps in Verite style. Editing was superb. Well done.

Check out the big talent on Matthew! :D

Hey John,
Christ is there for you. Open your heart to Him.

With love,

Very nice. Cool color goin' on. but, what's up with your slow motion? What's up with those wierd looking fields?

Re: Friends - new short

Slo mo is an interpolated Premiere thing i.e. fields, needless to say compression doesnt help!

Re: Friends - new short

Yeah, there was quite a bit of interlacing going on there.

Odd, though, the first thing I thought was "hey! I have that same shirt!" ;)

I don't think I've ever seen a church with rows of chairs instead of pews -- is that common 'round your parts?

Re: Friends - new short

In some places . . . it gets very hot here and pews are a bit too crammy at times!

Re: Friends - new short

Matthew,
Great job! It's awesome to see a Catholic church in a video in a positive setting! Also it's nice to see Catholics getting involved in video production. Here in the US, it seems like only our protestant brothers and sisters have used the media to bring Christ and His message to the world... It's nice to see some Catholic work! (Nothing against our protestant brothers and sisters, I just think us Catholics have a lot to learn about using the media from them!) I'm planning on shooting a documentary later this week following a young group of prolife Catholic college students walking 1300 miles from Maine to Washington DC. I'm pretty excited about it!... Please keep us in your prayers!

Again Matthew great job!

Re: Friends - new short

Thanks Vinnie! great feedback. I worked with protestants on a feature film opening sequence. The movie is called the Roman Trilogy by WYSIWYG films of San Fransisco! I love thier enthusiasim and yes . . . alot to learn there.

But at this point, the big Catholic "nut" does lead the way with his "Passion!" Gibson Rocks, excuse the pun! And it is easier to approach the subject in a secular forum now.

There have been a few great posts that deal with the same subject matter . . . like, Elvis's movie does make you think. I think a good short should have a good point worth bringing across in the few minutes you watch it.

Then there is always Mel.

Re: Friends - new short

The real question is would Jesus shoot in 24fps or 30fps? and if he shot 24 would he go advanced?

Re: Friends - new short

Just got a great idea... You've all seen those Jesus playing soccor or playing baseball statues for kids? How about Jesus with a DVX?!

Re: Friends - new short

Hey, I didn't mean to offend anyone with that... I am really sorry if I did. No disrespect intended...
