Ok I don't post a lot here but I read a lot. Your shorts are great and especially this one so I just had to say something

First of all you really have your own voice and style. It seems like you live your life and that you are using real problems to make a movie about not something you came up with. Which is great and absolutely essential to make movies that touch people.

I liked your images a lot. Especially the exterior ones. They immediately create an atmosphere and never bored me. I watched some of your other shorts and I think you are one of the most talented guys on this board.

The thing is that I am from Europe and I am used to open endings or movies ending with a question. But the way I see it is that american people tend to like movies with an answer more. Something that has a clear statement and that is really missing from your movie. It shows a problem but leaves it like that.

There is nothing wrong with this but if you make a movie like yours and want to send it to sundance (which is I think the best place in america to send a movie like this) it should present a new problem. Or present it from a radically new point of view or in a new way.

I think the problem of your short is that you are not using new ways to explain this problem. Your metaphors for the problems of such a relationship are not creative enough. And the biggest problem is that their emotional impact on the audience is not big enough. You are just presenting the facts. You are showing us how things are but you don't show how these people feel effectively enough. The interesting thing in movies like yours is the emotion. How these people suffer. At least that's the way I see it.

So basically I liked your short but I saw better ones about this topic. Good luck at sundance. Maybe your short is great and I'm just stupid :-)
