Friday 13th Part 3 with Laugh Track

How funny!!!! :dankk2:

It's like the re-edits of movies like Mary Poppins changed to Scary Mary or The Shinning changed to some happy go lucky Hotel Stay. I don't remember the links, but they are on YouTube somewhere...

With hit comedy's like My Name is Earl and The Office ditching the laugh track I wonder if it will go away.

Malcolm in the middle was really groundbreaking I think for that reason - followed up by Arrested Development.
Now it seems to slowly be becoming the norm (30 Rock also has no laugh track).

We can always hope....

Anyone remember Aaron Sorkin's "SportsNite"? They used a laugh track in the first season and it felt so unnatural. Fortunately, they ditched the track for season 2 and it was SO much better. Unfortunately, the show didn't last.

The laugh track is weird, but it works for studio sit-coms (New Adventures of Old Christine, 'Til Death, Two and a Half Men) since those have a more theatrical feel to them. But for stuff like The Office and My Name is Earl, it's like watching a big-screen comedy and the laugh track just doesn't fit.

I'll have to make sure and show this to my cast before we shoot my horror movie... keep them on their toes. Always freak the hell out of your cast right before you shoot. Fear! LOL
