Re: Fresh grabs

Nice.
Is this in NZ?
How did u get the people to stay out of the city shot? Must have been tough to pull that one..
Do u have any footages that u can share?

Re: Fresh grabs

yep...we are doing this movie here in Auckland, NZ.

Getting the people out of shot in the scene we did in downtown auckland was simple... we figured that because we had no budget whatsoever, the only way we could pull this off was to wait for the right moment.

I remembered vaguely that not many people venture out of their homes on christmas day morning, so I managed to get the permission from Auckland City Council for shooting on 25th Dec. Went there 7.00 in the morning, hoping that there would be not many people around and luckily got those shots. ;D joys of 'no-budget' film making.

Hmmmm....
That rain shot was excellent. The best i've seen in this forum. I guess the expression of the character, the rain, and the angle at which you've taken this... makes the shot look.
I also liked those quick clippings of the sea with the characters in it....
Very smart with the timing of the city shot. I couldn't have thought about that...
Good.

Re: Fresh grabs

I really like the trailer, and your grabs are like art.

One thing I think would add to the [already great] trailer - from both a pacing and content standpoint is a sync-sound dialogue shot of your protagonist and perhaps the antagonist (if available and without introducing a spoil).

These transitional dialogue hooks would be placed as a virtual "act changes" within the trailer.

Re: Fresh grabs

good grabs

john alone in the city looks great, just like vanilla sky ;D

Re: Fresh grabs

The second and third pic are the best I especially like the third. Are you using any bounce boards for that one?

Re: Fresh grabs

Most of the lighting in the movie is from natural sources. The second pic is at Auckland International Airport and it is from natural sources. ;D We got a 30 minute window at 10.30 at night where we could get the shots we wanted -so we could not afford to set up lights or use flicky boards...
